The 2nd day of the Cultural Wisdom for Climate Action conference in Bangkok presented a discussion on how spirituality and various traditions are related to efforts to deal with climate change. All speakers, representing various religions and beliefs in Southeast Asia, agreed on the need for balance in modern life and pressures from development by integrating traditions that are deeply rooted in our society.
Other discussions also show how development in cities in Southeast Asia should be built with local wisdom as the foundation.
Day 3 of the CWCA Conference formulated the importance of a viable action agenda to apply local wisdom to find solutions to the climate change crisis. The initiative was spoken by young Southeast Asian heritage advocates who had received training from SEACHA since last year. The action starts from oneself and the closest environment, and will expand not only among heritage professionals, but also to the private sector, business world, and finally bring it to the global level such as COP 28 which will be held later this year in Dubai.
