Mertadiredjan's version of Babad Banyumas was written in 1824, and the only Babad Banyumas manuscript containing left history of the ancestors of Banyumas dynasty. Meanwhile, Wirjaatmadja’s Babad Banyumas was written by Purwokerto Regent, Raden Aria Wirjaatmadja, in 1898, and in 1932 it was continued by Banyumas Regent, Raden Poerwasoepradja. This chronicle became known as the standard, the main reference for anyone who wants to know the history of Banyumas.
