Praise to God the Almighty that the Indonesian Heritage Trust (BPPI / Badan Pelestarian Pusaka Indonesia) has, since its formation on 17th August 2004, been moving forward alongside its organizational and individual partners in combined efforts to safeguard Indonesian heritage.

This humble book is compiled in hopes to illustrate the spirit of the Indonesian people in safeguarding, developing, and utilizing Indonesian heritage on natural heritage, cultural heritage, and the combination of the two known as landscape, or saujana heritage.

The conservation activities begun from early 1990s until the establishment of the Indonesian Heritage Conservation Network (JPPI / Jaringan Pelestarian Pusaka Indonesia) in 2000, marking the first milestone of Decade I of Indonesian Heritage Movement. These conservation activities from various parts of Indonesia formed a tight-knit network in the course of Decade II of Indonesian Heritage Movement in 2003-2013, which carries on into Decade III in 2014-2023.
